In honor of the weekend, this week’s post is about the importance of renewal.
Resilience expert, Tony Schwartz, states that we humans aren’t built to run at high rates of speed, continuously, for long periods of time. Instead, studies show that we’re at our best when we move rhythmically between spending and renewing energy. During the renewal phase, having a creative outlet helps us to be better at our jobs and enhances our sense of well-being. In fact, any creative endeavor - from writing to playing video games - gives us a way to experience mastery, control, and relaxation, all of which help to foster growth and innovation. So, this weekend take some time to do something different.
